After months and months and lots of life changes, I am returning to the world of blogging. Get excited.
p.s. If you're wondering what I've been up to, you can check out the updates I was making during my European backpacker last spring: Untitled, Europe. Otherwise, stay tuned. Back in New York. Lots to catch up on.
Yours,
EL

Update

Clearly, it has been four thousand years since my last post, so I want to give some explanation of what's been going on with me.
Basically, in August of last year, a friend and I decided we needed an adventure. Now, just five months later, we're about to set off on a 6-week backpacker through Europe. So basically all my energy in the past few months has been geared toward that endeavor. Planning, daydreaming and, well, saving pennies.
Now I know what you're thinking: Emily, you're 25 years old, what are you doing going on a backpacker - don't most people do that in college? The only answer I can give is....yes. It's true. They do. And I, personally, have done a lot of European travel - I was in France just a few weeks ago. But this trip is going to be different for several reasons:
A) Every trip is different. So there's that. This one will be different because it's me, and it's Hallie, and we're going to make sure it's special.
B) Hallie and I aren't in college. We have more perspective than that. And while I'm 100% going to frequent local drinking establishments while I am away, getting wasted in Europe is not my driving motivator. Nor could I afford it if it were.
C) I'm going to make something out of this. Like a tangible something. Blog, photo, video log - something. So that will push me, I think.
I've also gotten a lot of push back from friends about my destination. They all seem to want me to go to Southeast Asia, South America or Africa. Guess what? I want to go to those places too! And I will! Just not this trip - it's just not the way things aligned this time. I'm cool with having to plan another trip for next year.
Anyway, all this said, I'm going to be doing my trip blogging on a different site, I think: http://emilyluger.wordpress.com. It's still very much under construction, but you can check it out so far. As for the title? After Untitled, NY, it felt only natural that the next chapter would be Untitled, Europe, no?
So that's that. Stay in touch. I promise I'll hold up my end of the bargain.
Yours, with apologies for the posting delay,
EL
p.s. The photo is from the Internets, but it's one of the places I visited on my Christmas/New Years France trip. Felt like it was appropriate, given the European theme.
p.p.s. In case you are wondering, I do have a job. And they're letting me take 6 weeks off. And I realize we're in a recession. And I realize I'm lucky to be employed. And I'm very thankful our VP is so amazingly understanding. And I think this trip will only help me be a better employee. So hopefully that answers that.
